Our Mission: Exemplary instruction for every learner

The Knox County Schools Curriculum & Instruction Department believes:
  • An effective organization must engage in collaborative and continuous cycles of learning and improvement at all levels.
  • Exemplary instructional  leadership is dynamic, focused on teaching and learning, and engaged in data-driven decision-making.
  • Our department has an obligation to ensure that all students have multiple opportunities for attainment of skills and knowledge needed for post-secondary success.
  • An effective C&I department is one that courageously develops and supports the art and science of teaching and learning through innovation informed by research.
